Mark Nolte gave a very exciting and informative report about his efforts on behalf of the Creative Corridor and Iowa City development. Mark, Iowa City Area Development director, addressed the Iowa City Area Realtors Commercial Round Table committee today at noon. Mark reports that all of Iowa is now an EB5 Program approved zone allowing foreign nationals obtain green cards by investing and employing people locally. There are also new market tax credits issued by the NMTC Program, a state run and funded program. There is also State funding for Entrepreneurial Projects and ECICOG Revolving Loan Funds available for qualifying projects. ICAD has changed its focus from simply recruiting new industry to helping existing, local industry thrive. Part of that process will be to “beef up” the LOIS property database thus also helping local Commercial Realtors thrive.
